New Hard Rock: Moss Valley + “Beyond”
A powerful debut single from the new Manchester trio
Comprised of Zara Huxley (singer/bassist), Jack Stanley (guitarist) and Jake Lafferty (drummer), Moss Valley are an emerging grunge / doom band you do not want to miss out on. “Beyond” is their incredible debut single, that gives an exciting first taste to their sound, which will tell stories of “spiritual awakening, universal realms and finding connection in nature”. Topped off with a music video that is soon to follow, the track is the first of a string of singles set for release in the coming months.
“Beyond” combines progressive rhythms, rich vocal layers and doom-inspired riffs, highlighting the complexities of inner healing and how the journey is never linear. Though lyrically, the band speaks of a never-ending cycle of anxiety and feelings of hopelessness, it also offers a meaning of hope amongst the dark connotations: That even in hardship, “heaven and serenity can be found through finding moments of presence in daily life.”
Moss Valley have landed with quite a bang, and we can’t wait to hear more. They’re doomy, they’re gloomy, but they’re both things in the best possible way.
