The Scottish indie band unveil their anthemic new single
Marking another milestone in their rapidly growing career, The Exhales are a captivating new band with a blend of raw energy and lyrical depth at their core. Collaborating with renowned producer Bruce Rintoul, new single, “Bouquet” builds on their distinct sound but does veer into some new sonic territoriy for the fourpiece - a testament to their evolution, and their ability to offer an immersive listening experience that always resonates.
Hoping to further solidify their reputation as one of Scotland’s most promising alternative rock acts, the single follows two years of sold-out home shows and a string of praise from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Unsigned Madness. With "Bouquet," the band delve into themes of love, loss, and the human experience, showcasing their ability to create music that is both relatable and thought-provoking, all while maintaining an infectious, thundering indie sound. To celebrate the release of the single, The Exhales will be performing at Broadcast with renounced booking agent ‘This Feeling’, which will be quickly followed by the Belladrum Festival in July.
“Bouquet” is without question, one of our favourite indie rock releases of the year. Upon first listen, you can feel their energy, passion and desire to pivot their career forward, and they have a charm and relentlessness that sets them apart from any other Scottish band we have discovered this year. The introduction is one to be heard in a stadium setting, and the song continues to build and build, making it a soaring indie track dashed with a shoegaze-esque aesthetic. This is all delivered through strong vocals, uplifting guitar and a rich drums-and-bass pairing. Each member works to their strengths, holding up one corner of the single to give it the spotlight its striving for.
Big things on the horizon for The Exhales (though definitely not a band to sigh at). Simply great indie rock, which seems to be brewing to the highest quality in Scotland.
