Written and produced by Gallagher and Heinzler, the track is dubbed an anthem for the stateless, the homeless and the desperate. Urging the world reach out their hand in kindness to anyone struggling with hopelessness, the single is a powerful soul-rock track with the warmest of messages. Recorded with an exceptional live band (Roman Roth, Drums (Simply Red) + Patrick Murdoch, Guitar + Ondřej Pivec, Organ & Piano (Gregory Porter) + Uli Heinzler, Upright Bass), the single is made further transcendental through the presence of the backing choir.
Gallagher’s vocals could not narrate the story in a more mystic manner, and this is exquisitely paired with the dialogue from her talented instrumentalists. Drenched in expression, the single showcases how negative realities can be discussed through positive artistry - nodding to the work of Nina Simone and Aretha Franklin - where music serves as a medium to reclaim status, strength and identity.
