The Family Rain reveal long-awaited sophomore album, “Indulgence”

10 years on from their debut LP, the three brothers from Bath have quenched the thirst of anticipated fans.

Releasing 3 EPs and a string of singles over the past six years, brothers Will, Ollie and Tim have not lost their appetite for sweet melodies and savoury riffs. Their new album, “Indulgence” comes from many a relentless writing/recording session alongside long-time collaborator and Grammy-nominated producer Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Ghost, Pixies) and brotherly duo Bad Sounds, another set of Grammy-nominated producers in their own right.

Earning support slots for The Rolling Stones, 30 Seconds To Mars, Biffy Clyro and Miles Kane, the trio are no strangers to heavy tour schedules around the UK and Europe, and “Indulgence” is a love letter to this ambition:

“…any band/artist rattling around in a splitter van full of warm beer, to the decadence of a service station and to the Wizard of Oz-like state that the music industry upholds, the curtain is velvet green ,the lights are bright, but sweating behind the veil are three brothers working tirelessly to make something sweet for you to enjoy"

The album represents every aspect of the brothers combined, with influences ranging from AC/DC to Scott Walker via Fat Boy Slim. A “rock and roll album at heart”, the band encourage listeners to experience the collection from first bite to aftertaste. With a red jelly (hand made by lead vocalist/bassist Will) donning the front cover to represent a sense of the physical and hands on nature of what the band do, there can only be one message to the fans who buy this record - 'INDULGE'.

Not having the pleasure of crossing paths with the band prior to this album, I listen to the trio with fresh ears, and consider the collection a fierce offering that digs into the gritty corners of alternative and indie goodness, that’s seemingly effortless and driven by a DIY attitude, yet is a combination tricky to get down to a T. The Family Rain are somewhat of a pinnacle of this rough British style, brought to life by the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Gallows. Sprinkling in the lightest touches of blues, the band showcase their diversified taste and knowledge of style and delivery, which they've dissected to bring us something unequivocally 'them'. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or newbie, it’s this assurity in themselves that draws you in, and continues to keep you on The Family Rain train.

If you’re peckish for a sweet taste of the band, consider catching them live at one of their upcoming UK shows:
