Act of the week: Fagash McCann

Broken amplifiers and floral shirts: Meet Fagash McCann

A self-declared “fuzzed out two-piece from Belfast”, Fagash McCann are the hard-rock duo you’ve been waiting for. Combining thick, absorbing bass riffs with brutal, attacking drums, the band are poised to captivate listeners with their ferocious sound.

Such a powerful, distinct bottom-heavy combo can only be akin to British contemporary rockers Royal Blood, however this Belfast duo are marching to their own drum, showcasing a much more challenging and mysterious sonic tapestry. Very comfortably navigating how to subtly tweak their dark, distorted textures on demand, the duo appear firmly rooted in a skillful, untamed DIY aesthetic.

Formed by by Mark Holloway (vocals, bass) and Conall Stott (Drums), the band have been flying under the radar since their formation, despite having such a head-turning sound. Not yet hitting 100 monthly listeners on Spotify, the band are patiently waiting for their chance to break, or rather, explode onto the market.

Fagash McCann are a band that are all in, all the time. They have shaped themselves into a brooding, mighty force that has a refreshing, slightly avant-garde approach to hard rock. They have the chops to stand alongside Royal Blood, Frank Carter and Cleopatrick, so we manifest that it will only be a matter of time before this Belfast duo become one of the country’s hottest rock exports of the last decade.
