Cork’s Cathal Fitz Releases ‘Walk of Shame’

Irish singer-songwriter Cathal Fitz has released his bold new single ‘Walk of Shame’ -  a track that cuts to the heart of addiction, self-awareness, and the search for connection.

The single comes as the first release from his forthcoming debut EP, cementing the exciting Cork artist as one of the most compelling new voices to emerge from Ireland’s music scene.

Sharing stages with top Irish acts Darren Kiely, Skinny Living, Seamus Harty, Jack L and Jerry Fish less than one year into his career, Fitz is quickly establishing himself as a rising talent across Ireland and beyond. With only four singles under his belt, the artist has amassed over 100,000 Spotify streams, earning praise from Today FM ,Red FM, Dublin City FM and more.

A song that speaks to the cycle of addiction, ‘Walk of Shame’ is a stark reflection on the chaos and uncertainty of life when drinking and escapism dominate. Fitz captures the painful paradox of addiction: the self-awareness, guilt, and remorse that fuel the cycle, and the desperate need for connection to break free.

“It’s speculated that people caught in addiction choose to stay on that path. But from my experience, they’re often painfully self-aware, remorseful, and stuck. This song is for those people — to remind them they’re not alone. Specialists say the opposite of addiction is connection, and I hope this track connects with anyone who needs to know their pain isn’t just theirs.” – Cathal Fitz

Produced by Kealan Kenny and Cian Synott (noted for work with Amble and other leading Irish acts), mastered by Lismore  Mastering, and written by Fitz himself, the track blends raw storytelling with atmospheric production, resulting in a bittersweet pop-folk earworm.
