Dirty Honey poised to propel with “Can’t Find The Brakes”
Releasing dynamic taster single, “Won’t Take Me Alive” last month, the Los Angeles quartet are gearing up for a defining sophomore album.
Recording the new LP in Australia after being previously ripped from the opportunity due to the pandemic, Dirty Honey and producer Nick DiDia are putting their best foot forward to offer us a fairer representation of their capabilities.
Now that the industry has, for the most part, returned to solid ground, the sunny quartet are keen to present their second offering, which is set to land on November 3rd. On the welcome change of being able to be face-to-face for recording this time around, vocalist Marc LaBelle explained:
“Just physically being together in the studio with our producer made for a very creative environment; we got into such a groove, we were very focused, and not rushed, so it was great for all of us. We decided to call the album ‘Can’t Find The Brakes’ because the title was almost a time capsule of our lives right now. We’re constantly on the move and living each day city by city. Sometimes being a touring musician can feel like you’re on a train going full speed, and even if you could find the brakes, would you really want to?”
Welcoming drummer Jaydon Bean to their line-up earlier this year after the departure of Corey Coverstone, bassist Justin Smolian praised the new-found strength from the addition:
“Having Jayden in the band has made a huge difference. He’s an acapella singer with a background in vocal harmonies. So having him contribute, especially to the harmonies, has really added to our sound and has helped us grow a lot.”
Prepared to embark on their biggest North American headline tour this Autumn, the old school rockers have been on a true upward trajectory since their success as the first unsigned band in history to top the Billboard #100 Mainstream Rock chart. Showing no signs of slowing down, we anticipate “Can’t Find The Brakes” to conclude a fruitful 2023, and kick-off another intense year ahead.
