The Derry/Donegal band release new tongue-in-cheek single

The first single from their upcoming debut EP; ‘the bird-cat-dog metaphor’ is just the beginning of Tramp’s satirical commentary to narrate the collection. The playfulness and energy of this new single is enough to get you hooked into their sound if you haven’t already, though the added seriousness of its message is a true reflection of their ability to balance political commentaries with feel-good songwriting.

The video, filmed and directed by Hot Shoe Productions, was also inspired by the association of ‘lowered’ cars with ‘lad culture’, to humorously address its dark side of misogyny. The repetitive line, ‘Not all men are like that, not all men...’ is sung with a purpose - and like the band; not to be misunderstood or underestimated.

TRAMP has rapidly emerged as a formidable force in the Irish DIY music scene, winning ‘BBC Introducing: Artist of the Year Award’ in 2023 at the NI Music Prize, and being praised by the likes of BBC Across The Line, BBC Radio 1’s Introducing, Nialler9, Dig With It, and Chordblossom. No stranger to the spotlight, they have also shared stages with local legends like The Undertones, TOUTS, and Cherym, quickly becoming a ticket-selling sensation in Derry.

Ever since their sensational debut, “Frankenstein”, we haven’t been able to get enough of this band, and we’re delighted to see another single up on their streaming platforms, at long last. It’s been well worth the wait, and the fun-spirited but informative single paves an exciting path towards their debut EP. We love their sound, and now we are waiting patiently to hear what stories they tell through it.
