“Lavender Country” is a warm and dazzling first introduction to the fifteen-year old musician and songwriter.

Hailing from County Meath, Kate Prendergast is a talented multi-instrumentalist confidently building a portfolio of original work, with influences spanning country, blues, jazz and rock.

Her first single ‘Past Letters’, was recorded in her small home studio, with former Beat Poets vocalist John Dinsmore catching wind of her talent and promptly introducing her to producer Declan Legge of Analogue Catalogue Studio B (and manager of Jealous of the Birds and Vera). Inviting Kate to visit his studio to work on second single, ‘Undergrowth’ - recorded with drums and bass by Darragh Tibbs - the success called for another collaboration.

Their latest collaboration, “Lavender Country”, sees Prendergast opt for an emotionally moving, slow build track, exploring wistful dreaming, cautious hope and upbeat optimism; all to reflect the challenging roads we traverse in the human search for peace and balance.

“Lavender Country” will have you positively mesmerised from the first second. For those unfamilar with Prendergast’s work thus far, this single is a stunning, most welcome introduction to an artist we anticipate to be a leading name in the Irish music industry in the years to come.

Elegant, narrative and simply beautiful. A blessing to Ireland’s young, musical storytellers.
