Peer Pleasure reveal second sneak peek single from upcoming EP

Dragging garage rock “kicking and screaming to all new lows”, “Take It” gears the Wexford band up for a highly anticipated debut EP release.

Comprised of Brandon Murphy, Cein O’Dowd, Erik Murphy, Eoin O’Faherty, Jack Joyce, Joel Pitcher, Josh Fortune and Joseph O’Gorman, the band are quite the army of talent.  Formed in 2021, it was the lockdowns that saw the group united by a mutual sense of creativity and boredom, and the outfit was officially born after the virtual creation of several demos.

New single, “Take It” is a “sleazy slip ’n’ slide adventure between psych rock, the blues and a heavy serving of the feeling that something filthy is happening in the room next door”.  Mixed with the band’s signature grime character, what results is a sensual, dynamic track that showcases the band’s “unpredictable beauty” in full force.

About the track, frontman Brandon Murphy explains:

‘Take it is a documentation of every insufferable, pretentious or arrogant character you've ever met or caught yourself being. If you think I'm sound, I'm sure you'll come around” - a journey of self discovery coming to terms with the less stunning and brave parts of the human psyche and facing down the barrel of your own uniqueness, originality, ability or lack thereof and the perpetual feeling of being outside a seemingly impenetrable in group.

“Even if I had a thought I'd have no where to place it” - the pseudo intellectual posturing and peacocking that goes on in art spaces and in general  between people in their early development with some to prove to themselves and others, an ode to the obnoxious, delightfully dedicated to the those diligent denizens of the unsqueezed middle”.

Recorded at Hellfire Studios in Dublin, the track was polished by engineer Joe McGrath, mixed by Ivan Jackman and mastered by Killian Taylor. Capturing the band’s inimitable energy, the septet and their studio co are fully growing into their DIY ethos, which has brought them across the country and further afield to Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands.
