Scruffy Bear unveil sophomore EP, “Good Intentions of a Grumpy Sun”

two years on from their stellar debut (which won a C.O.B.RA for best debut EP), the North Yorkshire band are back with a second offering

North Yorkshire UK band Scruffy Bear

From the earth-shattering hard rock band comprised of members Georgy, Jack, Sass and Ryan, comes a soulful, fuzz-rock sound delivered with a serious but stylish attitude.

Since the bands début EP ‘Face the Rain’, released back in April 2022 and amassing over 40,000 combined streams to date, the humble Scruffy Bear have enjoyed immense praise in the UK media, boasting features on BBC Radio 1 with Alyx Holycombe, Kerrang’s “Now Hear This” with Alex Baker & Sophie K, a two-week top spot on Primordial Radio’s Top 40, and praise from BBC Radio York’s Jericho Keys. After a run of intense live shows and festivals across the country including Firevolt Festival, a sold out headline pre-show for Primordial General Mayhem and a packed out Georgian Theatre for Stockton Calling - Scruffy Bear are on course to having every British hard rock fan’s ear grabbed by the end of 2024.They have now unveiled their long-awaited second EP, “Good Intentions of a Grumpy Sun”, where they are continuing to carve their own path, spreading their message of creativity and self expression with a strong DIY ethos.

This is a strong release from Scruffy Bear, who are a still-young band navigating how to execute the perfect face-melter, all whilst swaying between hard rock, blues and soul styles. In the best way possible, there’s very little to say about the North Yorkskire four-piece. Vocals? Strong. Riffs? No shortage. Talent? Crystal Clear. Nationwide acclaim? It’s on the way…

Enjoy their sophomore EP now, and fingers crossed we will see them opening for the likes of Greta Van Fleet and Rival Sons very soon.
