Releasing their debut album, "A Place We've Never Been" in August 2024, Sun Mahshene have propelled to national prominence, securing two support slots for The Brian Jonestown Massacre this week in Dublin and Belfast.
On supporting the American psychedelic rockers, Sun Mahshene lead vocalist Nathan Henderson stated, "The Brian Jonestown Massacre have been a huge influence for us. To finally get to play a show with them is a dream come true" . Lead guitarist and backing vocalist Rob Crosbie added, "For an independent band like us, to be asked personally by the band to support them is really cool".
Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Sun Mahshene emerged in 2018, breathing new life into the indie and shoegaze scenes. Crafting a sound that is a bold mix of alternative rock, ambient electronica, and shoegaze, with a decidedly anthemic tone - the band dub this colourful hybrid "post-shoegaze for the masses". Championed by the likes of Amazing Radio, 8Radio, BBC Across The Line, BBC Radio 1, RTÉ 2FM, 98 FM, Hot Press and more, the band have defined themselves as a stand-out act in the Irish shoegaze scene.
