Jaime Orr reveals new single, “For You”

22-year-old Jaime Orr presents his first release of 2024.

No stranger to the art of songwriting, recording and performing, Jaime Orr starts 2024 on a high with potent alternative rock track, “For You”. Focusing on the importance of having good support systems throughout your life, the song’s honest character once again brings his introspective writing style to the forefront, on top of his maturing guitar technique.

Mastered by Fergal Davis (The Coronas, Aslan), the single leans into Orr’s more contemporary influences (we pick out a bit of Greenday and The Strypes), and continues his streak of intertwining tough themes with positive messages. The singer in fact, used music as a means of overcoming major speech difficulties in his youth, marking his musical brand and image as a lyricist, an authentic one.

Offering a range of material most notably influenced by John Mayer, Royal Blood, Nirvana, ACDC and Thin Lizzy, Orr has been on a steady rise to prominence in Ireland’s buzzing scene, sharing the stage with Eric Bell, contributing vocals and compositions for the 2021 documentary Mr.Dreamer, and for eagle-eyed fans, appearing on the famed Late Late Toy Show ten years ago.

Overall, “For You” is a nostalgic alternative rock track with the lightest splash of punk, and it places Orr in a very strong position in 2024, of which his skills and experiences earned up until this point can only become more fruitful.
