Luna Marble release mystic hard-rock single, “Begging Mercy”

A “psychedelic infused blues rock epic” from the Manchester band

Born from a humble voice note, “Begging Mercy” is one of the first songs that came out of Luna Marble’s early jams together back in 2020. Despite going through multiple changes as a group, the song has been a staple of their set since their formation, maturing and growing with them just as their musicality has done.

Showcasing their strong blues influence, the introduction to the single nods to a minor 12 bar blues, with Maria's roaring vocals tieing all together before the song erupts into the full beast that it is. Lyrically the song mixes themes of lust and religion, inspired by the vocalist’s upbringing in a Catholic school. Exploring the juxtaposition of catholic practices and lust to bring tension into the narrative, the single features an ambitious, uber-robust production style, of which is becoming a signature of the band. Their classic four-piece rock ‘n’ roll setup is enhanced with multiple vocal layers, psychedelic effects and a Hammond Organ performance that offers a classic 60s/70s/ Spencer Davis Group-esque nostalgia.

To coincide with the release, the band DIYed their own music video set in a gothic cathedral, setting a witchy and spiritual aesthetic and proudly pinpointing their attention to their visuals and branding.

A dark, bewitching single intertwining personal experience with deep-rooted history, all delivered through a mammoth hard rock sound.
