Moss Valley release second single, “Creature”

More heavy, doom-soaked goodness from the Manchester trio (with a dash of punk)

Manchester doom grunge rock band Moss Valley

Off the back of their debut single release,“Beyond”, Manchester doom / heavy grunge-rock trio Moss Valley are back with their second release before the year wraps up. A speedier single that gets right down to business, the track captures the raw energy of punk whilst staying true to Moss Valley's stoner-rock roots. The single follows an imaginary being who turns his back on society and tries to escape the brainwashing and conditioning he grew up with, highlighting the ways in which people who don’t conform, can be treated.

The song is a deep dive in sound and message, questioning reality and exploring how going outside of the norm can help find what you truly value. Though we wouldn’t dub this second single as “witchy” in a gothic sense as the debut single, there’s still that sense of darkness and magic that runs through the veins of this track, so the band are building quite a haunting brand. Also only half the length of their debut, “Creature” leaves just as impactful of an impression.

Within only two releases, Moss Valley have demonstrated their ability to craft lengthier arrangements and slow burn passages that capture the doom and gloom aspect of their style, and their attention to their broader scope of influences, including punk and hard rock, that gives more of a kick to the ear. The opportunity is ripe for them to seal the deal in their succeeding single and beyond.
